Dirty Billy's Hats-
If you ever go to Gettysburg, you absolutely MUST visit Dirty Billy's. Near the center square at 20 Baltimore Street. Dozens of period hand crafted hats, some made on antique blocks with real beaver felt. If you make a purchase or just look, this is a treat not to be missed.
People often ask where they can get Period Clothes. We wanted to put up a page with some of our favorite sites and Vendors.
Dixon's Muzzle Loading Shop
While known for Antique fire arms, Dixon's also has a few racks of period clothing you can try on, and walk out with. This may be the only place in the area where you can do this, so if you are headed out that way ( in the area of Cabella's on rt 22, it's worth checking out )
G. Gedney Godwin.
A variety of items from a trusted source. A little bit of everything with a focus on military items.
JAS Townsend & Son
Could be the standard in Period Clothing. Good selection, fair pricing, good service, good reputation. They also have lots of period doo dads, from camping to house hold items. A great you tube series on cooking, and a nice intro to re-enacting on their site. Worth a web vist.
Colonial Clothing of Mackinaw
This seamstress has done a number of custom orders for me. She works hard to find the right materials at a reasonable cost, down to the buttons. If you are after something special and specific, this is a good place to go.
